Summer fun

so we are already into July and wow has it ever been hot here! Matt just had his wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday and it doing pretty good I think so far. Has some swelling and the fun part of not being able to open his mouth all the way, I remember having it done! Looking forward to this 4th of July weekend! I am off on Sunday so we will head to our little church for worship and a sermon and then off we will be to our annual 4th of July pool party in our neighborhood!!! Its always a fun time and I usually don't get to go because of work but I will enjoy it this year since I am off, after that maybe a cookout here and fireworks with the kids and their friends no doubt! Hope everyone has a super 4th and a safe one too!

Well we have had a busy start to summer! Oh its so nice to sleep in :) We headed to the free movies last week and enjoyed the new movie theater in Simpsonville, we pretty much just walked in it was great!
Matt got a job at one of our favorite places to eat so that is exciting, I know he will and did enjoy his first paycheck, lots out there to save for! Lukas and Miah have had lots of fun playing with friends and we enjoy going to the pool, Miss Lilah loves jumping in the water and has no fear so we better watch out ;)
We hosted a youth group pool party this past weekend which was fun! I hope to try and post more of what is going on :D

I am sure most everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather out, much better then the 90 degree weather we had a week and a half ago.My kids like going out to play on these nice days, Lilah will try to sneak in the neighbor's backyard when she can to jump on their trampoline ;) Yard work was done this weekend and Matt and his band got to practice their new material here Saturday, I will post some pics from the photo shoot I did of them downtown, love going down there its got to be the best downtown ever! We had a nice day yesterday, church, a nap and then took the kids to Stevie B's. We stopped and rented the Blind Side on the way home and wow was that a great movie. I love watching great movies based on true stories, kudos for people out there who see a need and do something to help!

its been a great spring so far, love the nice weather, makes me want to go out and do something with my yard...not hahaha I don't have a green thumb at all so I will have to look for help in that area! I took Lilah to a fun Easter egg hunt yesterday, my friend Christy and her daughter Emily met us there for the fun, the girls had a good time, so fun to watch them ahhh to be 2 again :) enjoy the pics!

I can't believe its getting to the end of February! Where has Jan and this month gone? We ahve fun celebrating Matt's 16th birthday last month. We had a fun February got our first snow 2 weekends ago and this past weekend we got to take the kids to the circus they really had fun.Mark and I celebrated 18 years of marriage on Valentines day,and Mark's birthday how cool is that? Well I hope to keep up better here sorry its been way to long! :)

we had a fun past weekend, I took the girls to go see Santa here in our subdivision, they had fun but boy was it cold out. Lilah wasn't to sure about this Santa thing until sissy sat on his lap so she decided it must be ok lol. The look on her face was priceless the whole time, got some cute pics of them enjoy!

aww I have to say that since moving from Florida to SC that fall is by far my favorite season, I love the changing colors and its so fun to play in the leaves! well ok I guess as long as you don't have to rake them ;) I took the girls to a big tree in the neighborhood today and snapped some fun pics of them playing! we are so overjoyed that they were able to adopt their foster son Elijah today. Lilah and I had a wonderful time waiting for their turn as they proceeded finalizing the adoption, Elijah is such a sweet toddler and picked such a great family for him to call his own! What a great Christmas present to have a mom and dad. My heart aches for all of the children that won't have a forever family this holiday season and hope Lord willing one day we may be able to bring another child into our home through adoption!

Yummy recipe Taco soup

I tried this recipe this week and really liked it, I got it from one of the moms in a group I am in, it was a nice change from chili and we added cheese and sour cream on top with scoups yummy!
Taco Soup

1lb ground chuck
1 lg. onoin
1 can black beans, undrained
1 can kidney beans, undrained
1 can pinto beans, undrained
1 can whole kernel corn, undrained
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 can rotel tomatoes, undrained
1 (1 1/4 oz) envelope taco seasoning mix
1 (1 oz) envelope ranch salad dressing mix
1 1/2 cup water

Cook beef and onion until meat is browned, drain.
Add everything else to beef & onion mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into soup bowls ans top with desired toppings.

Toppings: corn chips, shredded lettucae, chopped tomato, sour cream, shredded cheese, jalapenos

we had fun at the tou swap today! Got rid of some toys we aren't using anymore and found a couple of cute books and a toy for Lilah :) Lukas got accepted into the Michelin Yes program here in Greenville at the new Children's museum so he was there along with other classmates from his school today learning about different cultures. He will be required to do 2 days a month for the rest of the year volunteering there and helping out I think it will be a fun experience for him!

the rain outside and windy day makes it a great day to stay home! Its fun to watch Lilah get excited about watching her favorite shows, Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Imagination movers. I am so thankful that I get to stay home with her during the day and do fun things with her and the groups we are in. She and I have made some great friends!! Hope everyone else enjoys the day!

I know I am so behind on my blog its embarrassing lol, oh well hopefully I will do better, school is off to a good start so far, we could still use prayer for our family but God is good and I will continue to praise and trust in Him through the storms in our lives. My latest passion would have to be photography, I love it! I had a great time taking pics at the park recently of my good friend Lisette's little boy Joseph! I got some good and very quick shots of Miah a few weeks ago and can't wait to go out and take more soon, Falls park is the best place to take pics so if you want some done let me know I need the practice and love it too!

wow Disco Diva is so behind on her groove again, oh well what can I say lol! Its been a busy past week we all got hit by the nasty stomach virus last week that was so not fun, I am thankful that baby Lilah was the only one who did not get sick!
I have been working working, I got the day off Sunday like usual and got to go see Miss Rebekah Faith get dedicated at church on Mother's day sooo sweet! It was a joy to see all of the family and friends join the Budd family as they dedicated their sweet baby to the Lord! Back home though we kept busy with kids going here and there, never a dull moment, we grilled out for dinner that night, went to see mom and then came home and made some smores yummy, ok they could have been better we cooked them over the heat on the grill and the kids were disappointed that there were no flames on the marshmallows oh well!
Today was our last MOPS meeting until September, we had some awesome ladies speak today, its so wonderful to listen to how God is using others in their lives, It reminds me too that I need to be in prayer more often then I do and to always seek God in everything in my life as well so pray that I am able to stay on that task!!!

well its been a long few weeks here for us, we found out our oldest son was suffering from severe depression and we had to bring him to the hospital and then go for treatment. Its hard to leave your child and not have them at home while they are working on getting better and regulating medicine,I know in the long run God has and will get us through this and it will make us a better family in the end. I look forward to seeing what amazing things God has in store for Matt,Lukas,Miah and Lilah, He is faithful and good and I am so proud to serve an awesome God!!!
Thanks also to my family and friends who have been praying for us during this time you are all wonderful and I am so happy to have you in my life, my song that I have really leaned on too is by Kirk Franklin called Declaration, This is it!

oh DD is behind again

How do I let this happen lol, so much going on like usual, we were so happy to get our first snowfall this past Sunday!! I just love watching it fall from the sky and once again I learned its not as easy as it looks trying to catch snowflakes on your tongue, I need to wear some protective eye gear when trying to do that, snow in the eyes is not fun ;) It only took a few hours and the ground was covered! We got between 3-4 inches here and the kids of course had no school Monday and Tuesday, so needless to say I haven't been able to get any extra cleaning or organizing done :D enjoy the pics we can't believe it will be up to 70 the end of the week!

ok ok so I am a little late putting pics up, we volunteered last week well Lukas and I did for winter jam at the bi-lo center it was really fun and loud! We were in charge of the His radio booth which just so happened to be right next to Toby Mac's band's table, we had fun chatting with them while we registered people for prizes at ours. Lukas made them a dozen or so pieces of origami while we were there which they liked very much :) We got to listen to some awesome bands play and we made it to the afterparty at The Channel which was fun, very crowded and HOT! I got a few pics not the best since we were on the balcony we had a good time!

Well we had a fun time taking the kids to the circus yesterday, they had a pre-show 1 hour before and we got to see the performers, dress up in some fancy clothes it was great! The show was really good and Lilah was facinated for the most part in everything going on! It was a great family day spent together!

For embroidered anything lol! I went to Switch*a*roos last night, its one of the upstates biggest consignment sale and boy is it big, its crazy how much stuff people buy there,I met GG a/k/a Gapgirl and her gang! We had fun chatting and standing in a line that was like oh 30 mins long to check out, how crazy is that huh? Its amazing how much people will spend on used clothes when I know for a fact I can get most of the kids clothes that cheap at the store lol, well I knew this one lady would be there who was there last year, she has the coolest monogramming machine so I brought one of Lilah's diapers to have her to her initials on it sooo cute, they I found the cutest mint green and pink dress for Lilah and we got an L put on that, I found another adorable dress and went back today to have the SC symbol put on the front, now I can't wait for spring for her to wear her new cute stuff!

its really chilly out there, aside from staying home for the past week, keeping Miss Lilah Anne inside since she hasn't felt well we haven't done a whole lot lol, I was amazed though that on the way home from picking the kids up from school that it started snowing, crazy I know! Well seems Matt is going to his first dance this weekend! He and Kayla will be going to his schools semi-formal winter ball, if you know anything about us we are not the dressy uppy kind of family so this might be quite the task to get him something nice to wear lol Matt and I went out last night to Ross and TJ Maxx to look for something but nada, I on the other hand was able to get a couple new outfits and got sidetracked at the purses don't worry everyone I didn't find one... yet ;) So I am hoping for some decent weather this weekend I would love to take Matt and Kayla to falls park or somewhere and take some nice pics of them maybe I can have them edited and done by the time they are ready to be picked up :)

Ok I am a bit late wishing everyone a new year by what like 11 days? lol Yeah Disco Diva has been busy nonstop since Christmas, which was great by the way, the kids had fun, loved their new things they got, and then off to the New year! Last week was a rough one I wasn't dancing thats for sure I came down with the flu ugh! Poor Matt was a trooper his 15th birthday was last Wednesday and I managed to make him a cake,he had a good day and had 4 of his best friends spend the night this past Friday night which also was the day he got his restricted, he is exciting I am not that he is growing up and old enough to drive now,ohhh the years go by so quick it seems,well here are just a few pics from the past few weeks to share, I got an awesome new digital camera for Christmas and I have been on a photo spree taking pics of everything! Its a canon powershot SX10 IS! I can't wait to test it out at falls park if anyone wants to come I want to take lots of pictures :)

wow did we ever embark on the prettiest lights ever tonight, there is a home here in Mauldin that has over 160,000 lights I had heard about, I told Mark about it and he drove us over there tonight and the kids loved it! There was a lady outside playing Christmas songs on the piano,santa was there to take pics with and free popcorn, you take a stroll in the backyard for more amazing lights! They don't charge anything just ask for donations to cover their $1000-$1800 electric bill they have from the all of this fun! GO and check it out you don't want to miss this!

wow I still can't believe its the middle of December already! We had a fun time last weekend at church we all got to go see Miah sing in the Christmas musical it was so festive and fun a great way to get you in the Christmas mood and Miah did a great job along with her good friend Sabrina who comes with us on Wednesdays to choir and Ga's! Grandma and Grandpa Steve got to come and see the performance too, Today was the Mauldin Christmas parade! We had a lot of fun participating with Langston middle school! The kids had a fun time decorating Mark's truck and it was fun to be in a parade and wave to everyone! The kids had alot of fun! enjoy the pics!

wow is it chilly outside today, I managed to get up after a 5 days of no kids in school to get everyone up and ready to get out the door~ We had a great weekend, Miah,Mark and I went to Lowes' Saturday night and picked out our tree it was so cold and rainy out we let babysit so we didn't have to take Miss Lilah out :) Then off to Wally world to get Lilah's new kitchen for Christmas....shhhh don't tell her ;)
Yesterday we put the lights up and decorated it yay! I will take some pics later today, I was able to put Christmas lights up a few in front of the house last night and I finally got my lighup candlesticks I have always wanted to put in each of the front windows! We took off late this morning to wish my good friend Amy and her boys off as they move to NC this week. We had lunch with them at McDonalds, poor Lilah was the object of all the kiddies there she must have looked like a cute puppy all the kids wanted to pet her lol. Well off to pick up kids soon and I must say I am jealous its going to snow in Asheville later! Oh I added Thanksgiving pics I cooked my turkey in a paper bag this year doesn't it look yummy? and we didn't have to baste it at all! woot

I still can't believe that its just 1 week away, where has this year gone? To fast I think, we still haven't decided what to do lol guess I Will ask Mark later when he gets home from taking his ASE recertification tests what we are going to do :D
Lukas stayed home from school this morning his stomach wasn't feeling good but thank goodness he felt better later on and even went outside and raked leaves, Lilah and I went out to watch big brother and because of the uneven ground in our front yard well our whole yard actually she fell on her face and scraped her nose up! Poor baby! We look forward to the weekend and I can't wait for those wonderful sale ads to come out next Thursday so I can plan my Black Friday outing!!!!

Best Friends cruise contest!

Girls getaway entry cruise! Wow doesn't this sound amazing? I still can't imagine what it would be like to go on a cruise, with 4 children ages almost 15 to a 1 year old next week life keeps me busy! Living in beautiful upstate South Carolina is wonderful but still so far from my best friend Christy in SW Florida. Christy is a a busy mom of two herself, she works full time for an abstinance based program for teens in her city! We keep in touch by emails,phone calls and of course texting when time permits :) Christy has such a special place in my heart. I am so thankful the Lord placed her in my path when I was just 12 and in 7th grade. We became close friends immediately, our personalities are so much alike its funny. Christy invited me in 9th grade to a Youth for Christ meeting and through that wonderful group I went forward to ask Christ into my heart with her by my side. We have been there for the biggest occasions in our lives, marriage, birth of our children the list goes on. We haven't lived near each other for almost 8 years now, so getting away on a cruise with my best friend would be the greatest! Thank you for considering her and I for the contest, she would be so surprised as well, best friends now for 25 years and counting PTL! Leah Einhorn

well not me but Miss Miah turned 9 on Tuesday!! We had a small party with grandma and grandpa Steve and 2 of the neighbor girls she plays with all the time. We are having her big party the weekend that High school musical comes out with a few girls for that and then back here for pizza and cake! ahh good times parties are so fun when you are young, I still remember the one birthday I had when I was like 8 or 9 and it was all Shaun Cassidy wooooo I am really showing my age here hahaha

Life without power

well I guess I can't say life it was more like 4 hours today without power but what a pain it was.It was around 9:15 when a transformer blew behind our house, down went the power and up woke miss Lilah from her nice nap that she wasn't done with. We pretty much hung around the house played and since I had nothing else to do in between I actually cleaned! Lilah and I went upstairs and made beds, put clothes away and straightened up the bonus room soon, yeah I know I shouldn't make the kids beds but I felt compelled to see a clean room at least once this week up there.When Lilah went down for her nap I cleaned windows,my wood table that we eat at which was crying to be cleaned lol and washed some baseboards, oh I washed diapers too and cleaned my room, WOW! Guess hubby will be surprised when he comes home to a clean house today lol! Power back on by 1:30 pm yippeee!!!!

yeah could I do a better job of blogging? lol Its been a busy week here like usual, talking kids to school, playing with my punkin and of course checking out facebook when I can, it was an early morning for me today I was at work by 5am and home by 8 so Mark could take off to a meeting he had, the kids got up and we went right back to work to grocery shop lol! I was busy tagging a bunch of clothes today that I am consigning so my couch looks like a tornado hit it ugh I hate messes but at least the stuff will be gone Monday when I drop it off. Well when Mark got home he had a great idea of re-arranging our bedroom furniture we were in need of a change in there I love the way its layed out now. Now I think I want to sell the set and get something else lol so off to craigslist it will go this week! until I blog again!

First day back to school!

Wow I can't believe the summer is over and the first day of school was today, well it was the first day for Lukas(middle school) and Miah went into 3rd grade today. Praise God Matt got accepted into Greenville Tech Charter high school last week a couple days after school started yay!!!

ok among my crazy obsession with diapers I have to say hairbows is right up there ok I don't have 20 or anything but I do like scoping out cute ones, I just found this website that makes the cutest one, Lilah Anne got this one over the weeked and I just read online that if you order bows right now and enter in gymbohaven you get free shipping which is outrageous by the way lol wish I had known about the deal last week anyway they make made to match gymboree so I might have to get a couple for some outfits I already got for next year :)

We celebrated Lukas' birthday over the weekend even though its not officially until the 12 th ;) We shared in the event with Lukas' friends from school, the Dotson's and Dempseys! Lukas had a pool party here with pizza and we had to move the cake cutting to our house in fear of getting drenched by the storm that was about to hit, but all was well all the kids got to play his new gift from us "rock band" for Wii, its amazing I haven't seen the kids since Saturday, haha j/k

Hannah Montana and the Jonas brothers lol, we had a fun party here last night we watched the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert here in 3D with the Jonas Brothers, we had 8 girls and 2 boys here and they had a blast! In between singing we took a break for brownies and the yummy cookies Amy brought over, the pics didn't come out all that great and they were taken in the room and it was dark lol! Glad we TiVo'd it so we can watch it like 100 more times ;)

of our night out to celebrate Sunday, I think Mark and I have decided to never go back to Kan Pai again, the past few times we have been there we get stuck with a new person cooking and they don't do a good job! They charge so much more for dinner then lunch and its supposed to include a "show" to watch while they cook dinner we got nothing grrr, we even had Lilah Anne with us and she was intently watching our cook make the food I know she would have enjoyed some neat tricks thrown in there oh well, I will send in my review card of our trip and like last time I don't expect to hear anything back from them.
On a bright note we are excited that tomorrow is our cloth diaper meeting at the library! Lilah and I enjoy going and meeting and chatting with lots of moms who CD their babies,its such much fun, really it is, I think I need to post some pics of my punkin in her cute fluff!!!!

yeah I know been busy like always this week, kids have been in bible school and they are going to a nighttime one tonight this should be fun, they have been to this one 4 years in a row and have always enjoyed themselves plus free dinner for the kids is always nice too! We kept busy this week with pool, hanging out with friends, we got to join the Stevens and Dempsey family at Stevie B's on Friday yummy, they have the best buffalo chicken pizza there! Worked hard yesterday and was bummed we were going to do the 25 cent day at the zoo but when we got there at almost 3pm they were all out of everything!!! I think I need a refund on my zoo membership that was one of the only reasons why I joined was for that day lol!
Well we had the grand opening of our new sanctuary today and all I can say is WOW! It was just awesome and we had a great crowd there plus 12 baptisms at the contemporary service talk about God moving how cool was that? Well we are off here in a bit to go celebrate,Mark and I met 17 years ago today and we always celebrate our first date by going out somewhere so we are headed to Kan Pai in a little bit! I am so thankful that we have each other, who would have known 17 years ago where we would be now, moved to a different state, have a great home and neighborhood to live in and

ok we had a great time, it was so nice to get away for a few days, we headed down to Orlando on June27 at like 4am yikes, way to early but we made good time and everyone was great despite our new tv for the car didn't work grrr! anywho we checked in the kids hit the pool and then we headed off to dinner not before spotting a familiar site that we don't have in SC which is a 7-11 yeah I couldn't resist had to take a pic lol!

well the next day we hit the tool rally it was pretty cool they had a whole kids are set up with x-box,wii,coloring,face painting you name it! Plus an endless supply of drinks and food cool huh? Mark's grandparents came to see their sweet new great granddaughter it was so nice to have them visit us there!
Next up my bestest friend Christy and her daughter Caity came to see us we had a blast together, we had dinner the kids watched camp rock with another friend who was there and Christy,Lilah and I went outlet shopping at 10pm lol that was a first for me, I live so dangerously now don't I?? ;) Can you believe we have been friends for 25 years and counting I am so blessed to have her in my life!

Well we sandwhiched 8 people in our room lol, out for breakfast the next morning and then to downtown Disney we had fun despite the thick humid air outside, we loved the Lego store I got a Star Wars t-shirt and R2D2 keychain for the van lol, we left and then came back later on when it cooled down again

Ok the next morning we left and drove to Tampa to surprise my brother who works at cracker barrel(yummy)it was fun yay!

Next we headed to spring hill to visit and surprise Mark's sister at her work hmm I am seeing a pattern here lol

We had a great time seeing family and friends thanks for getting this far if you have :)

I mean really when its there not a day that isn't cram packed full of stuff to do,well we started off the weekend Friday with the Camp Rock movie which was pretty cute I might add, I heard that the Jo Bros are coming to charlotte the end of July Lukas would love to go see them so I will be on the hunt for some tix that don't cost me small fortune to get :)
Wow saturday was busy I was at work by 5:30ish and stayed til 11 when Mark came and got me so I could feed our littlest princess ;) off to Sams we went but got side tracked at Brick house with their Free coffee signs up I got a mocha frappachino and was it good, we browsed through the yard sales going on at Sams and we got a couple of things and then off to switch over our cell phone service and get new phones that only took like 2 hours can you believe it? Poor pumpkin was exhausted by the time we left. We had a great time at church yesterday, one of dads in our SS class had box seats to the Greenville drive game last night so all the dads went with their kids, Mark,Matt and Lukas had fun while Miah went off to VBS with the neighbors and I attempted to clean the house and play with Lilah whew! We have VBS this week at our church so I will run errands and go to 2 playgroup meetings this week while trying to get ready for our trip to Orlando, we leave on Friday yay!!

yep never a dull moment over here! We have been checking out vans recently hoping to maybe trade our older one in for something a little newer, well I found a great looking Sienna online but it was down in Columbia, we decided to go give it a test drive since we found out that since its not new the Toyota dealer down there still gives a lifetime warrenty on used Toyotas! How crazy is that, well needless to say at 10:30 Monday night we headed home in our new van yay! I am really liking it, its white has airbags the whole way down,can fit 8 people big plus for carpooling and I do alot of that lol, it has so much room its crazy, I will post some pics later on when I won't melt outside to go take them ;)
We had a fun time at the free movies yesterday we saw Evan Almighty soo funny, Lukas brought 2 friends from school and we headed to Stevie B's with our coupons and had lunch yummy! Afterwards we went to Educational outfitters and got Lukas the rest of his uniforms for school so he is about ready to go now yay! One down 2 more to go!

Describes Miss Lilah today, such a sweet and happy baby I still can't believe she slept 12 hours straight the night before and then wanted to play at 1 am this morning :) I love her to bits! She loves watching us and trying her hand in whatever she can, her latest thing was chewing on a straw and guess what she got the hang of it this week!! She looks so cute when she sucks the water up, I got her a baby Einstein cup today with a straw in it, she loves it and it will be great for our end of the month trip to Orlando for when it gets hot and she needs a quick drink, hmm I am thinking maybe we can skip the sippy cup altogether now ha!

Its amazing how you never know what the day will bring what is this picture you ask? Well it actually started yesterday morning I woke up and my back was all wet, hmm I thought odd not sure what the deal was but got up and on with my day, fast forward to last night and Mark pulls the sheets back and says they are all wet the bed must be leaking,ack!! Was he ever right our wonderful semi-waveless waterbed had sprung a leak, talk about a pain, we had to strip the bed, wash sheets and drain what was left only to find I nice ring of mold around the base of the bed ugh ugh ugh I mean how gross is that huh? Well it just so happens that we had a memory foam mattress in the paper for sale so guess where it is now?? We got it last year when I was prego and I hated it so I guess we will have to see if I like it any better now, I only need a small ladder just to get into the bed, I hope I remember how high the bed is if I have to get out in the middle of the night to check on the baby or go to the bathroom :P

Oh just when you thought the day couldn't get anymore exciting you start to nod off and wonder how am I going to make it past dinner at this rate, well here is my afternoon pick me up, its a cappachino chiller made right here in my own kitchen!

Doesn't this look so yummy and it only took 2 mins max to whip up in this awesome blender that for the life of me don't think I am going to keep ha! SO if you want to join me in a cup 'a joe you better get here quick before its gone

Wow this is a first for me, as long as I have been online I still have never gotten into blogging, well yet that is so here is my first attempt, hopefully for the future it will be worth reading ha! Its a Monday isn't that everyone's favorite day of the week....not lol, It always amazes me how my house gets sooo messy from Sat-Sun and I am left to clean up the remains of the tornado every Monday, well I guess hey what can you expect there are 6 people living here! I was very surprised this morning to find my 10 year old Lukas unloading the diswasher after eating is breakfast this morning how awesome was that, gave mom a jump start on the day and I didn't even ask woot woot!!!
